ITAR Consultants conducted a three-month evaluation of a capacity development initiative (2022-2024) led by the French Embassy in Lebanon. The project aimed to provide sustainable support for the recovery of the education sector, strengthening both public and private institutions while ensuring the continued attractiveness of francophone and multilingual education in Lebanon. The initiative included capacity-building activities tailored to:
- School management: training on economic and ecological transitions, as well as financial and general management skills.
- Teachers: professional development in multilingual and interdisciplinary learning, along with digital integration in classrooms.
- Public schools: targeted support for 10 schools to establish them as “centres of excellence” in Lebanon’s education system.
Following the OECD DAC criteria, ITAR’s evaluation assessed the project’s effectiveness, impact, and sustainability, providing actionable recommendations for future improvements.
