Anti-Racist Movement (ARM) was created in 2010 and was officially registered as an NGO in 2012. Over the last ten years, ARM has been working primarily on two pillars to address the challenges raised by the Kafala system: (1) direct work within the Migrants Community Centres, and (2) advocacy activities. After ten years of operations as an NGO, the organisation was working on its future strategy while preparing a pitch for a multi-year funding opportunity.
ITAR Consultants were mobilised to write a context analysis relying on available internal document, open sources, and a series of KIIs. The objective of this review was to identify:
- persisting challenges after ten years of ARM’s activities, including contextual change of the Lebanese crisis and impact on programming;
- intersectional challenges faced by women migrant domestic workers in Lebanon in this context; and
- opportunities for future programming and advocacy to tackle these challenges.
Based on this work, ARM has published a Context Analysis within its strategy “Racial Equity 2030”.
